| So i offered to bake a cake for a friend...Since it was her birthday, i told her to tell me what kind of cake she wanted. I'm pretty much used to hearing "oh..anything chocolate!" But, alas, she went a different route. She started off with angel food cake. I proceeded to ask her to name her second choice. She asked if i worked with fondant. I adamantly refused, since I think fondant tastes like waxy sugar paste =P. "Well what about marzipan," she asked. I agreed. She then asked if I ever made "tiered" cakes. My answer was "yes, of course", but i nevertheless viewed this as a challenge. So here we have it: Golden Butter Almond Cake with Almond Italian Meringue Buttercream in a Marzipan Shell with Handmade Marzipan Roses

| I think i'm now the unofficial bday cake baker at Pod. One of the managers asked me to make a cake for her boyfriend's bday. She told me in advance that his two favorite sweets were chocolate and peanut butter. Of course, peanut butter cups were the first thing that came to mind So here we have it: Devil's Food Cake with Peanut Butter Mousse, Peanut Butter Buttercream, and Homemade Peanut Butter Cups with Crushed Caramelized Peanuts (isn't THAT a mouthful?!)
